For starters, I tried this product in a S & W Model 648–2, not the 617 for which it was made. My gun would fire 5 or 6 of the 8 chambers in single action, but only 4 or 5 out of 8 in double action. The new pin corrected single action firing 100%, and definitely improved double action. FYI, the overall length of the factory original firing pin was 0.492" whereas the TK pin measured 0.501" overall. Unfortunately, this did not fully resolve the problem, so I am only rating it 4 stars. Because of the improvement I certainly think this extended pin COULD be the right solution if you are having FTF issues with your rimfire S & W.
I believe this marks the last Smith & Wesson I will ever buy, because this is the fifth time I have run up against these issues with them. 5 guns and they have failed to fully fix every one I have sent in.
These issues do not reflect on TK Custom, which produces an excellent product and provides excellent customer service.
The trigger pull is fantastic. I scratched the black off the lock plug in some places fighting to get it in the hole. Nitride would be a more robust option. Instructions and labels for the parts and springs would be helpful. I have no idea which weight spring I used but it works great either way.
I bought the 10 mm moon clips with the loader and unloader. Loading is fast and easy and unloading is the same. I loaded both 10 mm and 40 S&W. All of them loaded and fired without a problem. These moon clips are making my carry gun a revolver again.
