First time I’ve looked at the mechanics of new model S&W revolvers. I have two revolvers that came with the lock. I don’t know why those revolvers were modified. There is nothing wrong with the original mechanisms. After taking out the trigger/hammer lock, I have a lot more faith on those revolvers working when I need them to. As a side note, my old models are smoother than the new ones I purchased. Maybe after I’ve shot them as much as I’ve shot the old ones, they might get smother. I’m not betting on it. The new revolvers have more moving parts. I’ve got every model I might want except for a Model 19. If do get a new model, I will get the classic which does not have the lock. I I ever get another revolver that has the lock, I will definitely disable the lock.
