Installing this HiViz red front fiber optic sight couldn’t be easier with a drop-in installation and just a rudimentary level of gunsmithing ability. It fits all S&W Revolvers with a DX/interchangeable sight. To get started, simply pull back on your S&W Revolver’s current DX sight against a spring action and lift the nose in an upward direction to pull the sight out. Then, take the front nose of your HiViz sight, place into the slot and pull back against the plunger while your press the top down into place. Chamfer was too broad, had to narrow it down to fit my 986 Pro Series’ DX slot. Once fitted it really worked great, pulled in the morning light very well!

The Hi Viz fiber optic DX front sight added the edge my 327 TRR8 needed. The spring loaded swap out drop in installation was a breeze and the sight is designed with a sturdy profile. After a day at the range using the sight I’m impressed with how much faster and more intuitive target acquisition has become. 5 stars. I definitely recommend the Hi Viz front sight.

Federal or Remington & others makes works the best with the .025 thick Full Moonclips, which fit all the .38/357 standard moonclip. They allow the cartridges to have some movement or wiggle so that they will fall right into the chambers once properly aligned. Winchester brass does not work at all as the groove width is too tight/small.

There is no SAAMI specifications for the extractor groove and each manufacturer makes them as they want. The following list gives you a great example. This is why the diameter size of the brass is critical to proper loading, unloading and fitment. Cartridge diameter too big and moonclip too small causes the moonclip to bend. The cartridge should rotate within their respective place and wobble slightly when all cartridges are loaded.
