Extended Cylinder Release — Taurus Revolver
Extended Cylinder Release — Taurus Revolver
A drop-in extended cylinder release for Taurus revolvers, with a larger thumb pad for faster, surer cylinder operation. The factory release gives your thumb little to work with, and the larger pad gives you more leverage and a positive surface so the cylinder opens cleanly every time, even with gloves on. It is a true drop-in upgrade with no fitting required.
Why it matters: opening the cylinder is part of every reload, and the stock release is easy to miss or fumble under pressure. A bigger, more positive pad makes that motion faster and more certain, which helps whether you are running a timer or just loading at the range.
Who it is for: Taurus revolver owners who want quicker, surer reloads, shooters who run gloves, and anyone who finds the factory release small or slick. Because it drops right in with no fitting, it is also an easy first upgrade if you are new to working on your own revolver.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Federal or Remington & others makes works the best with the .025 thick Full Moonclips, which fit all the .38/357 standard moonclip. They allow the cartridges to have some movement or wiggle so that they will fall right into the chambers once properly aligned. Winchester brass does not work at all as the groove width is too tight/small.

There is no SAAMI specifications for the extractor groove and each manufacturer makes them as they want. The following list gives you a great example. This is why the diameter size of the brass is critical to proper loading, unloading and fitment. Cartridge diameter too big and moonclip too small causes the moonclip to bend. The cartridge should rotate within their respective place and wobble slightly when all cartridges are loaded.
