A lighter, smoother double-action pull for the S&W 617 in .22LR, with the extended firing pin included so your rimfire ignition stays reliable. The 617 is a favorite for practice and rimfire competition, and a lighter pull makes a long day on the trigger easier and more consistent shot to shot.
Pull weights: with Federal Champion ammo, around 7.5 lb. With other rimmed brands, around 9.5 lb.
Important: dry fire is fine with snap caps or a fired case on a .22LR revolver. That is how to practice trigger pull safely. Avoid dry firing on an empty chamber with the extended pin installed, since on a rimfire gun the pin can strike the edge of the chamber and damage the cylinder.
Important: the firing pin and springs are a matched set, designed and tested to install together.
What is in the kit: a reduced power spring set that lightens the double-action pull, plus the extended firing pin that keeps the rim getting a clean, reliable strike at the lighter weight. The springs do the work of smoothing the pull, and the pin is what keeps the gun lighting every round.

Federal or Remington & others makes works the best with the .025 thick Full Moonclips, which fit all the .38/357 standard moonclip. They allow the cartridges to have some movement or wiggle so that they will fall right into the chambers once properly aligned. Winchester brass does not work at all as the groove width is too tight/small.

There is no SAAMI specifications for the extractor groove and each manufacturer makes them as they want. The following list gives you a great example. This is why the diameter size of the brass is critical to proper loading, unloading and fitment. Cartridge diameter too big and moonclip too small causes the moonclip to bend. The cartridge should rotate within their respective place and wobble slightly when all cartridges are loaded.
