Rebound Slide — S&W Revolver
Rebound Slide — S&W Revolver
A replacement rebound slide for S&W revolvers. The rebound slide houses the rebound spring and pushes the trigger back forward after each shot, so it has a direct hand in how cleanly the action resets and how the trigger feels. A fresh rebound slide restores smooth, consistent reset on a well-used or tuned action.
Why it matters: the rebound slide moves every time you work the trigger, and a worn, rough, or burred slide makes the reset feel gritty and inconsistent. Because it also carries the rebound spring, it is one of the parts a gunsmith looks at first when smoothing out an S&W action. A clean, properly finished slide is part of what makes a good trigger feel good.
Who it is for: anyone refreshing a worn S&W action, building a project gun, or smoothing out a trigger that resets rough.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Federal or Remington & others makes works the best with the .025 thick Full Moonclips, which fit all the .38/357 standard moonclip. They allow the cartridges to have some movement or wiggle so that they will fall right into the chambers once properly aligned. Winchester brass does not work at all as the groove width is too tight/small.

There is no SAAMI specifications for the extractor groove and each manufacturer makes them as they want. The following list gives you a great example. This is why the diameter size of the brass is critical to proper loading, unloading and fitment. Cartridge diameter too big and moonclip too small causes the moonclip to bend. The cartridge should rotate within their respective place and wobble slightly when all cartridges are loaded.
