An extended firing pin for the S&W 617, 63, and 43c in .22LR, built to keep rimfire ignition reliable when you lighten the action. A rimfire needs a solid, consistent hit on the rim of the case to fire, and as you lighten the springs the hammer falls with less energy. The longer TK Custom pin makes up that distance so the rim gets a clean strike every time. It is also the correct replacement if your factory pin is worn or damaged.
Important: rimfire dry fire is fine with snap caps or a fired case. That is how to practice trigger pull safely. Avoid dry firing on an empty chamber with the extended pin installed, since on a .22 the pin can strike the edge of the chamber and damage the cylinder.
How it works: a .22 fires when the pin crushes the priming compound in the rim of the case against the chamber edge. A longer pin reaches that rim with more length, which matters once you have lightened the springs and the hammer is hitting softer.

Federal or Remington & others makes works the best with the .025 thick Full Moonclips, which fit all the .38/357 standard moonclip. They allow the cartridges to have some movement or wiggle so that they will fall right into the chambers once properly aligned. Winchester brass does not work at all as the groove width is too tight/small.

There is no SAAMI specifications for the extractor groove and each manufacturer makes them as they want. The following list gives you a great example. This is why the diameter size of the brass is critical to proper loading, unloading and fitment. Cartridge diameter too big and moonclip too small causes the moonclip to bend. The cartridge should rotate within their respective place and wobble slightly when all cartridges are loaded.
