SKU
Upgrade your bolt action rifle's trigger with ease using the Brownells DIY Bolt Action Trigger Replacement Tool Kit, a comprehensive set of essential tools designed for the removal of factory triggers and installation of aftermarket replacements. This kit simplifies the process of enhancing your rifle's performance and trigger pull, making it suitable for various bolt action rifles, including the popular Remington 700. Here's why our kit stands out as the ideal solution for trigger replacement:
Key Features and Benefits:
1. Stable Work Surface with Bench Block: The kit includes the durable Brownells Rifle Bench Block, constructed from super-tough polyethylene. This block provides a stable and secure surface for working on your rifle, ensuring that pins can be driven out of the action with precision. The center V-groove keeps cylindrically-shaped parts steady, preventing rolling during the process.
2. Comprehensive Pin Punch Set: The Grace Pin Punch Set is a valuable component of the kit, featuring seven punches designed for driving out and installing action pins. It includes 1 starter punch, 1 center punch, and 5 drift punches of various diameters. These punches serve not only for trigger projects but also cover 90% of your future pin removal needs.
3. Nylon/Brass Combo Hammer: The kit includes a Nylon/Brass Combo Hammer, which plays a critical role in protecting your rifle from scratches and scuffs during the trigger-installation process. The nylon head prevents marring of metal surfaces when tapping parts into place, while the solid brass head provides the necessary force for driving punches in or out.
4. Easy-to-Follow Instructions: The Brownells tool kit includes detailed instructions to guide you through the trigger removal and replacement process. These instructions make the task straightforward, even for those with limited gunsmithing experience.
5. Versatile Application: This kit is not limited to Remington 700 rifles; it is suitable for many bolt action rifles with similar trigger systems. It simplifies the installation of aftermarket triggers, enhancing your rifle's performance and precision.
To learn more about the proper use of these tools, you can watch the accompanying video that demonstrates the installation of a Timney trigger module on a Remington 700 rifle. The process showcased in the video is similar for most other bolt action rifles.

Federal or Remington & others makes works the best with the .025 thick Full Moonclips, which fit all the .38/357 standard moonclip. They allow the cartridges to have some movement or wiggle so that they will fall right into the chambers once properly aligned. Winchester brass does not work at all as the groove width is too tight/small.

There is no SAAMI specifications for the extractor groove and each manufacturer makes them as they want. The following list gives you a great example. This is why the diameter size of the brass is critical to proper loading, unloading and fitment. Cartridge diameter too big and moonclip too small causes the moonclip to bend. The cartridge should rotate within their respective place and wobble slightly when all cartridges are loaded.
