Introducing our Fixed-Blade Gunsmith's Screwdriver Set, a meticulously crafted and thoughtfully designed toolset created by gunsmiths for gunsmiths who demand precision and excellence in their work. We take immense pride in presenting this set, which is perfect for those who appreciate the reliability and precision of fixed-blade screwdrivers. Here's why the Brownells Fixed-Blade Gunsmithing Screwdriver Set stands out as the go-to choice for gunsmiths and firearm enthusiasts:
1. The Perfect Tip & Blade: We understand that the tip of a screwdriver is crucial for a gunsmith's work. Our blade tips are custom-designed and precision-ground to offer maximum strength and a crisply radiused, hollow-ground shape. The ideal parallel section at the tip ensures a proper fit in the screw slot, preventing damage to screws and ensuring even torque distribution.
2. Short Blades for Maximum Control: Our blades are intentionally short, allowing you to work with maximum control and eliminating wobble and tilt. With a length of only 2½ inches from the workpiece, you'll have a clear view of your work. Tight tolerances are maintained throughout the blade, and the entire blade/shank is hardened to Rc 58-60, guaranteeing strength and durability.
3. Unique Shank Design: The long, parallel shank maintains the same diameter as the blade width, enabling repeated regrinding and reshaping while preserving the original blade width. It also allows the screwdriver to access narrow holes or recesses that are only screw-slot wide. The hex section provides flexibility, allowing you to use an open-end wrench or one of the Midget Ratchets for additional turning power on heavier blades. Each individual screwdriver is labeled with a size-sequence number from 1 (smallest) to 20 (largest) for quick selection.
4. Custom-Designed Handles: Our handles are meticulously crafted to fit comfortably in your hand. They strike the perfect balance between grip and control, making it easier to handle both large, tight screws and delicate, intricate ones. Consistency in handle design is maintained across all 20 screwdrivers in the set.
5. Distinctive Presentation Bench Blocks: To complement the exceptional quality of our screwdrivers, we offer two stunning Solid Oak Bench Blocks to hold your Fixed-Blade Gunsmith's Screwdrivers. Each block features three tiers for compactness, offering clear visibility of blade width/thickness, the identifying number stamped on one flat of the hex section, and 20 holes (Master block) or 10 holes (Add-On block) with ample finger room. These bench blocks are finished with a durable non-gloss lacquer and come with anti-skid feet to stay securely in place on your workbench.
6. Personalized Name Plate: The Master Set Block includes a Personalized Name Plate, allowing you to proudly display your ownership. It's perfect for awards, gifts, or simply marking your territory in the workshop.
Sets Available: We offer two packaging options:
- The Master Set™ includes all 20 Screwdrivers, a properly radiused Bit Shaping Stone, the Bench Block, and a bottle of Brownells Best Penetrating Oil™.
- The Super Master Set™ includes the Master Set and adds 6 Allen head fixed blade screwdrivers, 3 Phillips "Anti-Cam" screwdrivers, and the Add-On Block.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Federal or Remington & others makes works the best with the .025 thick Full Moonclips, which fit all the .38/357 standard moonclip. They allow the cartridges to have some movement or wiggle so that they will fall right into the chambers once properly aligned. Winchester brass does not work at all as the groove width is too tight/small.

There is no SAAMI specifications for the extractor groove and each manufacturer makes them as they want. The following list gives you a great example. This is why the diameter size of the brass is critical to proper loading, unloading and fitment. Cartridge diameter too big and moonclip too small causes the moonclip to bend. The cartridge should rotate within their respective place and wobble slightly when all cartridges are loaded.
